County Planning Commission
6-8pm
The duties and functions of the Albemarle County Planning Commission are to promote the orderly development of Albemarle County and its environment. This Commission also serves to improve public health, safety, convenience and welfare of County citizens and to plan for the future development of the County to the end that transportation systems be carefully planned; that new community centers be developed with adequate highway, utility, health, educational, and recreational facilities; that the needs of agriculture, industry and business be recognized in future growth; that residential areas be provided with healthy surroundings for family life; that agricultural and forestal land be preserved; and that the growth of the community be consonant with the efficient and economical use of public funds.

The regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Supervisors are held in Board Room 241, Second Floor, County Office Building. All meetings are open to the public. Recorded information on Board agenda items can be accessed by dialing (434) 972-4082.

Burnley Moran Walk to School Day
7:45-8:40am
On the first Friday of each month, Burnley-Moran Elementary School celebrates Walk to School Day! Families who can walk or bike from home, while others take a lap around the school track. Join us at this exciting event- we always need volunteer support! Call Linda at 295-6554 for more info.

City Council Meeting
7-9pm
Regular meetings of the council are held in City Hall on the Downtown Mall at 7th and East Main Streets. The meetings are televised live on Charlottesville TV 10. Meetings are open to the public. Agendas of regular council meetings are available in advance from the clerk and are published in the local daily newspaper. Time is open for speakers on subjects not listed on the agenda at the beginning and end of each regular meeting.

The Planning Commission advises City Council on promoting orderly development of community. The Commission also advises on the development of the City's comprehensive plan, including land use, transportation, community facilities and service, and designation of renewal and other treatment areas. It also advises on zoning, subdivision, capital programming and other planning activities.
